The current BMW E60 M5 is a menacing beast, every straight and corner, it oozes out every single drop of energy that is created. With its naturally aspirated 5-liter V10, 507-bhp is made available on the throttle. The E60 M5 will be replaced by the BMW F10 M5. Currently, BMW is testing it with 2 engines, a V-8 and a V-10 variant. With the world’s governing body limiting carbon emissions, fitting in a monstrous power plant will no longer be a choice for most manufacturers.
The BMW F10 M5 will be more nimble, lighter and powerful compared to it’s predecessor. BMW have the choice of turbo-charging the new M5, which is very much possible as it not only provides ample power and torque, it also reduces carbon emissions and fuel consumption. Being lighter and more powerful, this sounds promising! Rumor says that the new engine will be producing 550-bhp.
We got some pictures from Bimmerpost revealing 2 F10 M5 being tested.
