Formula 1: Singapore GP Wrap Up, Lewis Wins
A rather dull race, I am not impress with this years Singapore Formula 1 GP. Well, it all started with a quick launch from Lewis Hamilton, launching him off way ahead of Sebastian Vettel, thanks to his KERS. As the first lap unfolds, Mark Webber pushes Fernando Alonso off track, and that certainly cost him time, 6 seconds to be precise. Drivers are still complaining that the track is still very bumpy.
As the drivers push themselves through the race, Giancarlo Fisichella had contact with Vitantonio Liuzzi, that allowed Liuzzi to get himself an advantage to take Fisico, but, the Yellow Flag saved him from the charging Liuzzi.
Sebastian Vettel was the first driver to pit for a scheduled stop. Nico Rosberg followed on, as Nico exits, he oversteered and peeped over the white-line, with that, he was awarded a drive-through penalty.
On regard with Lewis Hamilton, he blitzed the first quarter of the race and got a free first pit-stop.
Some drives had a party of their own, and one got himself into big trouble, Adrian Sutil was trying to peep himself ahead, but he lost his tail in the process which cost Nick Heidfeld a good race. With that, the safety car came out on lap 21. The teams took advantage of this situation and in that window, the pitlane was flooded with cars. Hmmph, did the team force Adrian to crash this time?
Jamie Alguesuari ruined his pitstop, or rather ruined his team mechanics weekend, he pulled the refueler to the ground when the lolipop was still stationed on the car.
As Vettel chasses Hamilton for the lead, in that process, he lost his rear view mirror, no idea how, but after a few laps, he damaged the floor board of the car. That was not his last problem, a couple laps later after his pit stop, he got hit with a drive through penalty for speeding in the pit lane.
Mark Webber crashes after a front right brake failure. Torro Rosso retires both their cars too with brake failures.
Jenson Button appears to be suffering from brake failures on the last few laps.
So, Lewis Hamilton won the race with Fernando trailing in second and Timo Glock third. The Brawns certainly is playing a safe game. Now, with 3 races left and Button still leading the Drivers championship from Rubens, the championship is getting a little cold shower.
