Audi has officials has told Autoweek that the e-tron concept will soon become a real production car models. Audi has a history of putting their concepts into production ever so often and it was not that surprising to find that this good looking car will soon be on the roads around the world.
Audi America President Johan de nysschen said the we can expect to see some running examples of the car in the next 24 months. This may very well mean that they already have a prototype out doing testing at this very moment.
The e-tron will be powered by four, yes ladies and gentlemen 4 electric motors one on each axle. The car will also be equipped with a 213kg lithium-ion battery pack which is located in the rear, behind the seats. The e-tron will produde 313bhp and a maximum torque of an astonishing 4,500Nm. Audi claims that this car will go from 0 to 60 (100km/h) in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h. However a fully charged battery will only take you for a distance of 248km.
We expect the e-tron to be in the US by 2012, this is still uncertain as no dates have been announced by Audi.
