BBC  is really going all out to promote their latest season of Top Gear , just last week The Stig was supposedly arrested in Dublin and now he is perhaps on the run from the police. Probably thinks that Amsterdam would be a good place to hide.

The tame racing driver was spotted in the Amsterdam canal in a boat slowly driving it down casually, probably thinking that his racing suit would not trigger attention. It’s probably not a coincidence that the city famous for its legal red light district and Marijuana is also the location for Top Gear Live world tour.

“I had no idea that it was even possible to oversteer a barge,” said one astounded onlooker with a slightly amusing accent. “The tyre smoke was somewhat inexplicable, also. I mean, do barges even have tyres?”

After his relaxing tour down the canal, The Stig climbed out of his barge and into a bright orange spyker, probably just one of his many getaway cars. The Stig was also seen booked for speeding, not a surprise there.

The Dutch police refuse to comment on the the whereabouts and whether the white suited racing driver is a fugitive on the run.  Anyway these are some really bright ideas in promoting Top Gear events and the TV show.

We should probably see a lot more publicity stunts in coming weeks as November 15 is not too far off now. The anticipation is slowly building, I’m pretty damn sure of that. Let us see what they come up with next week to entertain us.
