Video: Volvo Vows To Create The Un-Crashable Car
A tall order some would say, but it is a true fact that most road pedestrian accidents are mostly caused by vehicles. Volvo, we know that they lead the industry trend for car safety, and this time they are taking things to another level.
Volvo has been long known for their safety for passengers/drivers, taking its next step to protect pedestrians, they have developed a system that will help the driver to reduce the risk of pedestrian related accidents. The new collision avoidance system is called ”Collision Warning With Full Auto Brake And Pedestrian Detection”.
It basically uses a camera, a couple smart sensors and the brakes to help the system work. The camera on board the car will sense and detect pedestrian/objects around the car, and it will brake appropriately to avoid crashing or hitting into them.
Volvo says that the system will completely avoid any impact under 15 mph.
This certainly a class leading piece of technology, and with all the restrictions and regulations, this system is seeing a very bright future in every other automotive manufacturer. Kudos to you Volvo!
