As reported here, we now know that BMW is pinning hard on the new BMW M1. We have here some of the official teaser image of the M1, it seems to be taking in the new “M” characteristics. For example, the front air dam is scooped outwards, similar to the M3.

EngineLounge reported that the power-plant chosen will be a 4-cyclinder Twin-Turbo engine, but it seems that BMW might just fit the M1 with a high performance 6-cyclinder, instead of the 4. Power figures are still adamant at 350bhp.

As of where things are going the “production” car will likely debut towards the end of 2010 with a debut more than likely at Detroit 2011 because the largest M market is the US , With European sales commencing in the Spring and the US in early Summer 2011.

The BMW M1 will surely be upsetting a lot of its competitors that are priced way higher.
