Listen up, it’s not BHP Billiton, it’s BHP Malaysia (Boustead Petroleum).

Have you ever been called a selflish bastard? Yes perhaps? Well BHP Malaysia has just been awarded the best “Selflish Bastard” award for murdering a young girl. That said, no knives or guns were involved in this murder, only some selfless employees they hired.

On the wee hours of the 3rd June 2010, a young girl was trapped in her car after being hit by another car, sparks were flashing and flames appeared, a sensible young man was there to witness the incident and went off to look for a fire extinguisher. The closest facility was a BHP station, at approximately 500 meters away from the burning car.

He got to the station and was refused to acquire the life saving device, anyways, the story continues HERE & below:

“FUCK BHP!!!!! FUCK BHP!!! why? let me tell you!! This morning approx 3.20am, at Cheras Tmn Pertama roundabout, saw a freak accident, involving a Vios, Myvi and a Lorry. I’m one the first badge who arrive, mean it just happen maybe seconds ago.

Vios believe to be turtle and badly damaged. When im passing by the vios, rear passenger started to pull out the front driver and front passenger. Then when i pass the Myvi, the car was totally sardine. Heard one girl was yelling cos piined inside. I stop my car then run towards the myvi to offer a hand while calling 999 emergency line to request for ambulance and bomba.

Then saw fire spark at the engine bay of myvi. while still on the phone with emergency line to provide more details, i run back to my car and drive to BHP station which is just less than 500m away from the scene.

Then i request for the fire extingusher from the attendant which is kept inside. There was 4 extingusher on the ground. But the attendant refuse to pass to me. The BHP attendant claimed dat the door cant be open. Then i shout at him, i need it! i want it! someone is pinned inside the car and its started to burn!

Then the BHP attendant keep repeating he kenot borrow and open the door. Then i was like WTF! if ur kiosk is burning can u come out? then he replied yes. Then he still say he kenot open the door. Then he say his boss wont allowed to borrow. WTF!!! Then i started to amuk kicking the kiosk and punching the glass of the kiosk…

Indeed pathetic yes? Wanna know the response from the Managing Director of BHP Malaysia? Here you go:

BH Petrol’s managing director Tan Kim Thiam, when contacted, expressed regret over the incident at one of their petrol stations.

He said robberies were common in those hours.

“The staff were concerned and did not respond to the request as they could not see the accident,” said Tan, who declined to comment further.

Really?

Sepang Circuit boss Razlan Razali says that Malaysia’s Formula 1 Circuit venue is in need of a huge lump of cash as the place is beginning to look extremely worn.

The venue hosted its first Formula 1 Grand Prix in the days of Mika Hakkinen, thats back in 1998.

It is said that the whole circuit needs to be revamped, “The membrane on the roof of our main grandstand has already outlived its usefulness and has to be replaced. We are still ‘version 1′, but I am not saying Sepang should be like Abu Dhabi, which is already ‘version 1001′, but at least our track needs to get on par with Shanghai and Bahrain.” says Razali.

The cost needed for this to bring the track up to par is more than USD$ 60 million.

He said the Malaysian government was fully supportive of the Grand Prix for the first “four or five years” but then lost interest. “Maybe with the change in leadership, some ministries did not think Sepang and motor sport were important to Malaysia.”

Hmmph… motor sports is no longer important to Malaysia eh? When will the big boys learn?

We all hate traffic congestions don’t we… Ever so often, I find myself being very much pissy over heavy traffic plus having the temptation to use the emergency lane, which is located on the far left of the road (British system). But of course, road ethics complies to me.

That said, how does it feel to see your fellow country man abusing it? Being impatient, fidgety, and rude to other road users, this is very much common now, on Malaysian roads at least.

I took the liberty of capturing some of these emergency lane abusers (North South Highway, Southbound). It was on the eve of the 2010 Chinese New Year (13th February 2010), yes, a day before Valentines, I was on my way to Malacca and traffic was pretty much stop and go, but some road user thinks that they have the right to use the emergency lane, being in a time constricted emergency perhaps?

“The left lane otherwise known as the road shoulder, is created for emergencies. E.g. event of an emergency or breakdown, for emergency vehicles such as Patrol Cars and Ambulance.”

Needless to say more, this sort of attitude pisses off many and it seems that the penalty that is being imposed by the authority isn’t harsh enough. Where has the discipline gone? Where has the respect gone?

WTH 1879

Indeed, the Police should have been doing something about this, instead, they were just standing on the shoulder admiring the traffic congestion. Amazing yes? See for yourself.

See? Note, not one car was stop for any sort of questioning. Amazing indeed, that said, he was on the phone too. So tell me, are the abusers doing it without the knowledge that its wrong, or is the authority not doing anything to educate us road users?

It seems that Toyota is not alone with all the recall business. Honda Malaysia is recalling 2 models, the 2nd generation Honda City (2008) and the 1st generation Honda Jazz (2003). Reason is that both cars might have possible failure of its power window master switch which is caused by extreme water sippage. This will result in a massive short-circuit.

So, what is water sippage? Heavy downpour, rain, car wash and other water splashing onto car activities will cause the failure. It is also said that the switchboard would melt or burn under these circumstances.

There has been a total 3 burn cases that are reported, 2 in US and 1 in Africa.

Do visit your nearest Honda dealer for the recall.

Honda Toll Free number at 1-800-88-2020, or visit any authorised Honda dealer.

Press Release:

Petaling Jaya, 1 February 2010 – Honda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (Honda Malaysia or the Company) shed lights on the recent product recall of 2nd Generation City 2008 Year Model (YM) and 1st Generation Jazz 1.4-litre 2003 YM due to possible failure of its power window master switch, which under extreme water sippage, could cause short-circuit.

As of today, there were no faulty cases reported in Malaysia.

There are a total of 12,935 units of 2nd Generation City 2008 YM with 7,713 units of V-TEC and 5,222 units of i-DSI respectively. As for 1st Generation Jazz, there are 3,090 units of 1.4-litre Japan made 2003 YM. Honda Malaysia will now call for Product Update for these models.

Honda Malaysia explained that when the power window master switch is exposed to excessive amount of water (such as rainwater), especially when windows are left open for prolonged period of time, electrolyte materials from rainwater would sip into the power window switch unit. This would decrease the insulation resistance between the electric circuits, which could lead to current leaks. In severe cases, the switchboard would melt or burn.

“We will be writing to all our customers directly and inform them of the preemptive measures to address this situation. We are in the midst of preparing the replacement parts and we will then carry out the necessary inspection and replacement when the parts are ready. All charges incurred in the inspection and replacement work will be borne by the Company,” said Toru Takahashi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia.

“We would like to assure our customers that all current selling models are not affected,” added Mr. Takahashi.

There were a total of 3 burn cases reported so far, 2 in the US and 1 in South Africa. However, there was no confirmation that the fatality reported in South Africa was caused by the malfunctioned parts. The recall was subsequently announced in US, UK, Canada, South Africa and Ireland.

For more information, please call Honda Toll Free number at 1-800-88-2020, or visit any authorised Honda dealer.

Six drivers have been shortlisted for the 1Malaysia – Lotus F1 Team said Tony Fernandes on Thursday.

He also mentioned that Fairuz Fauzy was the only Malaysian driver to be on that list. A lot of speculations have been going on about Jarno Trulli joining the team however when asked, Tony Fernandes the principal for Lotus F1 did not comment.

“What I can say is, Fairuz Fauzy is on the list. We will announce the line-up in November,” he told Bernama after delivering a talk at Universiti Malaya here.

“I hope the Malaysian driver will be selected as either the second driver or third driver for the team,” he said.

We are quite certain that Fairuz will get to race in Formula One next year. There are quite a few Malaysian drivers out there with potential however due to experience and his age Fairuz seems to be the most likely candidate for F1 Lotus.

Fernandes did not mention any other names despite having a said that the list has been shortened to 6 drivers. Our money is on Trulli and Fauzy to be the drivers for Lotus F1 Team. Also bare in mind that there will be a third test driver needed. We shall have to wait till November to get the final answer on this long awaited question.

We definately hope that better and safer cars will be produced as a result of these test.

“Crash statistics show that occupants of 1 or 2-Stars vehicles have twice the risk of receiving life-threatening injuries in a crash, compared with 4 or 5-Star vehicles – at a time when 4 and 5-Star ratings are becoming increasingly available for new car buyers,” ANCAP Chairman Lauchlan McIntosh said.

The Malaysian race driver Fairuz Fauzy told reporters that he is ready to accept the seat for Lotus F1 Team.

However the offer has to come his way. The controversial and still confusing team, now called the Lotus F1 Team has yet to announce the drivers for their team. As Lotus F1 is very much owned by the Malaysian government and other Malaysian companies it is very certain that we will see another Malaysian driving in Formula One.

According to Tony Fernandes who is the team principle he has confirmed that Fairuz Fauzy is bright candidate for the team and is one of their top candidates.

“Of course, if the offer comes, it will be like a dream come true, and I’m more than ready to take it up,” Fauzy told NST reporters

Also former Team Minardi F1 driver Alex Yoong is linked to be the deputy team principle for Lotus F1 team by next year.
